Please note Civil Celebrants are not licensed to perform legal marriage ceremonies; you will need to be legally married by a registrar or minister under English Law

This privacy policy sets out how we use and protect any information that you give when you use our services.

 

We are committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. When you provide personal information by which you can be identified when using the website, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

 

We may update this policy from time to time by amending the website page. You should check the page from time to time to ensure that you are happy with any changes. This policy is effective from January 2024.

General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) – Compliance

 

We will only communicate with you as a direct result of an enquiry from you or a Funeral Director and for any subsequent communication during the time up to and including the time of your ceremony.  This may be via email, telephone or text unless you advise us otherwise. Post ceremony contact will only be made if you have agreed to follow up material from your ceremony, 1st year anniversary, remembrance or a testimonial. What we collect

 

As part of your booking and the process of creating your ceremony, we may collect the following information:

 

Your Name, and Names of other relevant people for the ceremony

Your contact information including address, email address and telephone number.

Contact information including email address and telephone number of those having specific roles at your ceremony.

Personal memories and stories given by you and other members of the family and friends.

 

What we do with this information:

 

We need this information to enable us to carry out the agreed service of creating and conducting your ceremony, including liaising with others taking part in it. If you agree, We may also communicate with you for up to a year after the ceremony.

 

Minimum personal information will be retained for seven years for tax purposes before being destroyed.

 

We do not send you promotional or marketing emails.

 

Confidentiality and Security

Your information will only be used for the purposes outlined in this policy.  We will not sell or distribute your information to third parties. We are committed to ensuring that your information is as secure as possible and will only be kept as long as is necessary.  You may request details of personal information which we hold about you under the Data Protection Act 1998.

If you believe that any information we are holding is incorrect or incomplete, please contact us as soon as possible, at the above address. We will promptly correct any information found to be incorrect.

 

Health and Safety

If you are holding a home ceremony it is advisable you check that your domestic insurance policy covers third party liability for any visitors to the home. We will not be held responsible for any accidents that occur at your home as a result of negligence on your part.

We are covered by Professional Liability & Malpractice Policy Insurance and Commercial Legal Protection Insurance provided by Balens - Specialist Insurance Brokers
