Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can we write our own vows, and how much input do we have in the ceremony script?
We encourage and support couples to write their own vows. The ceremony script, your ‘love story’ is all about you. Collaborating with us on the script ensures it aligns with your vision for the ceremony.
  • How far in advance should we book a celebrant?
We recommended you book us as early as possible, ideally several months in advance to avoid disappointment.
  • Are celebrant-led ceremonies legally binding?
No. You will need to register your marriage in a Register Office before or after your celebrant wedding ceremony in order to make your marriage legally binding. You will need to contact your local register office and arrange to have a ‘Statutory Ceremony’ to legally register your marriage.
  • What is a celebrant, and what do they do?
A celebrant is a trained and certified independent professional who officiates various ceremonies such as weddings, vow renewals, funerals, naming ceremonies and any of life's milestones. They create and conduct personalised ceremonies tailored to the couple or individual. See our blog post about celebrant weddings.
  • Do you offer LGBTQ+ Weddings?
Yes, absolutely no need to ask - fully inclusive.
  • Can we include symbolic ritual as part of the ceremony?
Yes, there are many symbolic additions we can add to your ceremony. Maybe a sand ceremony, ring blessing, handfasting, wine box ceremony, unity candle ritual or a quaich, loving cup ritual. It's about being creative and finding out what suits you.
  • Do you only officiate ceremonies in Suffolk?
While we call Suffolk home, our commitment to creating meaningful experiences knows no bounds, as we are delighted to bring our services to wherever your ceremony is taking place, ensuring that your celebrations resonate with the same warmth and authenticity that define Suffolk Ceremonies.
  • How is a celebrant different from a religious officiant?
We offer non-religious or interfaith ceremonies and provide a more personalised, customisable approach. If you wish to incorporate a religious tradition you can. We focus on your unique story and preferences.
  • Where can I hold my ceremony?
You can have your ceremony wherever you choose, you are not restricted to licensed venues. The options are endless outdoors, on the beach, at a hotel, in the forest, on the farm, in a restaurant, in a bar, in your back garden, in your kitchen - you choose!
